What changed
Grok 4.7 uses a larger base model than Grok 4.6 but is served at the same price and speed. It accepts text and image input with text output and a 500,000 token context window. xAI reports 46.3% on CursorBench 4.0 (Grok 4.6: 40.4%), 71.0% on DeepSWE v1.1 at high effort, and 37.6% on Terminal-Bench 4.0 (Grok 4.6: 20.3%). A Fast variant with twice the output speed at twice the price exists in Cursor and Grok Build.
Access and availability
Available on the xAI API as grok-4.7 in us-east-1, us-west-2 and us-central-1, plus in Cursor and Grok Build (x.ai/build). Rate limits are listed as 150 requests per second and 50 million tokens per minute.
Official access documentationPricing
$2.00 per million input tokens, $0.50 per million cached input tokens and $6.00 per million output tokens under 200K prompt tokens; $4.00, $1.00 and $12.00 respectively at 200K+; Batch API 20% discount
Official pricingWhat you can build
Run a long coding or document task on Grok 4.7 in Cursor or the API at Grok 4.6 pricing and compare quality with the model you currently use.
Limitations
xAI's own tables show it trailing Fable 5.1 on several benchmarks, including Terminal-Bench, GDPval and HealthBench. Prompts at or above 200K tokens are billed at double rates, and the Fast variant is not on the public API.
