What changed

Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS (gemini-3.8-flash-tts) and Flash-Lite TTS (gemini-3.8-flash-lite-tts) generate speech in over 100 languages and dialects. New over Gemini 3.1 Flash TTS: voices designed from text prompts, a library of 2,000+ voices, voice replication from a 30-second sample with a consent recording, line-by-line delivery direction, two-speaker scenes and long-form generation with less speaker drift. Google reports Flash TTS ranks first on Hume AI's Voice Design Benchmark. Flash-Lite targets high-volume dubbing and voice agents.

Access and availability

Both models are available in the Gemini API and Google AI Studio. Flash TTS also powers Gemini Notebook and Flash-Lite TTS powers Google Vids, with Gemini Enterprise listed as coming soon.
